Cozy Texan romance for someone other than me

I was not inherently uninterested in the plot, but I just did not connect with the author’s writing style. Honestly, the cover looks like it is targeted to an older demographic and does not peak my interest. I could see how another reader would find this cozy, but this is just not for me.
