I really love the cover, but it almost doesn't seem to match with the story that's presented here. I am really curious to know what's going on with the mayor's boyfriend (or is he...) and the writing is nice, so I would probably read more. I can't quite put my finger on why I couldn't really focus on this excerpt--could be that there are a lot a POVs early on--but I do like that there seems to be a bit of mystery going on, rather than it being a straight romance, which I would have guessed from the cover.
