This is a remarkable story that starts heavy and doesn’t let up, but in the best way possible. Focusing on a sixteen year old girl and her single father trying to make a life for themselves, this book captures your attention and immediately brings out the big feelings. I also really enjoyed the little “disclaimer” type thing from the author at the beginning, stating that it’s a book about heavy subjects and she can’t be the one to tell you if it’s for your or not, but to take care of yourself. It was such a personal touch that made you feel part of the story without it actually being a part of the story.
