This book is not my jam. It is a collection of twelve short stories, some of them being VERY short, with a common theme of following your heart's desire. But since the stories were so very short (for context, all twelve stories fit into a 186 page book), I never was invested in any of the stories or any of the characters. None of the stories seemed very unique and I found myself getting bored and checking the page numbers to see how much I had left in each story. And for the most part, the heart's desire was selfish pursuits, which made for a fairly predictable story. I'm sure there are people out there who will enjoy these stories because the writing is nice. But I am just unfortunately not one of those people.
