I'm slowly but surely going through the old excerpts to try to rack up more points to get more freebie books. Life got in the way for a few months, but now I'm back at it. I'm trying to mostly go in alphabetical order by file names, but things sometimes get jumbled, so bear with me.
This book is actually a short story collection. For many people, that seems to be a less desirable thing. Now me? I'm generally all about the short story. It gives me a quick read in between other tasks, and it allows me to temporarily fall into a story. Since the start of the pandemic, I've been gravitating more toward short story collections than normal, mainly because I lack an attention span these days. Now, that being said, this one didn't really hit the mark, not because the short stories weren't good - they're definitely okay, but because I just couldn't connect with any of the characters in the short stories in the excerpt. Now that doesn't mean I won't be able to do so with other stories in the collection, just that the pick for the excerpt wasn't great. I won't go out of my way to look for this one, but I won't turn it down if I happen on it.
