Marylee MacDonald writes 12 beautiful short stories of discovery into characters that relates to anyone of us, in losing a first love, failure to communicate your heart and soul to someone, or losing yourself with the passage of time. Beautifully written. I love the stories on Mongoose and Year by Year because they showed the elderly and feelings of the passage of time. As I read each story, it was easy to get lost in the characters, the location in which they were at, or the feelings that they were experiencing in that moment. I cringed in INK story but also laughed at our perceptions of others.The writer writes with such detail and describes the emotions, that you can't help but being inside each character and live that moment. An easy and good read to keep and reread again.
