I thought the premise and the quote described in the preface were interesting, but the writing in the first few pages was so bad I'm not going to read any farther. The main character reads like a teenager instead of an adult, and the attempt at "country lingo" just fell super flat for me. I'm not interested in reading more just based on that very first impression alone. I think the cover is striking.
