I read the first short story in this collection, but unfortunately wasn't inspired to read further. The author talks about hormones rushing the brain and fight or flight impacting our decisions before we even know we've made them, but there was almost none of that reflected in the storytelling. The description of the character's experiences while out in the wilderness was apt though.
