I have read La Plante's Widows series and liked it but this book was on a different level and I really enjoyed it! Tennison is getting bored with her work since she has been kicked off and moved into another station and suddenly a brutal murder comes her way. However the story goes into a whole twist where while dealing with the murder and trying to solve it, we find out that her old station has some pretty sketchy things going on and it may have to do with Tennison getting kicked off.
Just a note, I was pretty confused in the beginning as I felt there was no formal introduction of the character and that we are already suppose to know who she is and that's when I found out this is a sequel to a long standing series. So while it took me a bit to really understand the Jane, this was still a great read and now I will have to look for the first one so I can piece it better together.
