I am sorry to say that I found this book as enjoyable as reading a phone book. Way too many unnecessary details (I feel like all the characters in the book were constantly eating or drinking something, which was described to the smallest details.) The description of the main character's gun training made me laugh out loud. You would think she was training in handling a nuclear weapon instead of a gun.
The parallel story of police corruption seemed more of an afterthought added at the last minute. All the characters lacked depth, even the main one. And things went soooo slow. After every small action they would call it a day. If investigations took this long in the real world, I don't think anybody would ever be convicted.
To top it off, the ending was disappointing. I was waiting for a surprise that never came. Overall, a disappointing book.
