I was excited to have won a copy of this book but was worried I would feel lost considering I had not read any previous Detective Jane Tennison novels. I was absolutely proven wrong and was able to easily delve into the life of Jane Tennison without feeling like I was missing too much of her story. Blunt Force by Lydia La Plante is a great book that draws you in and makes you feel like part of the team. Detective Jane Tennison is transferred to a smaller police force that doesn't seem nearly as much action as she previously did and is growing frustrated by that. Not much later, a grisly murder is discovered and we are thrown into the mystery. The victim has a long list of people he may have wronged and Jane must unravel the story by delving into the lives of the elite all around the world. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Thrillers, Mysteries, or Police Procedural-type stories.
