I read one of Lynda La Plante's books before and I absolutely loved the book. It was one of those books that you just don't put down until you finish it. I feel like I had some of those same expectations, but this book just was nowhere as great. The book was really slow to start off and ten chapters in i still felt like the storyline was just dragging. This is not the first book in the Jane Tennison series and although you don't need the backstory to read this book I think it would really help to understand Jane much better. It was really hard to understand some of her thinking and how a previous incident affects her now. I know I had high expectations for this book, but I am really having to push myself through this book to finish it. I definitely am not excited and wanting to continue reading late into the night with this book. The plot is really great, but there is so many different characters that you have to try and remember everyone was also a bit difficult to follow.
