Blunt Force is the third book I have read by Lynda La Plante, and I have enjoyed all of them! I absolutely love the character Jane Tennison, who is an ambitious detective for the metro police. She and an old friend Spencer work together on a murder case that fell into their laps while investigating a complaint about a dog barking all night. The victim is a show business agent and has many people that would love to see him dead. Jane and Spenser uncover the use of drugs and fetishes that Charlie Foxly has, and have to investigate thoroughly to uncover the killer.
Lynda's style of writing takes some getting used to, but once you get the rhythm, the book just flies. I would recommend Blunt Force to those that enjoy a good thriller.
