This is the sixth book in an unknown series and new to me author, and I have to be honest, I probably should have read the others first. It was like going to a party where everyone knows each other and has inside jokes and you’re just missing that familiarity the rest of the group has.
Now I did enjoy the character of Jane Tennisson, despite not being completely clear on her history, and was bothered by her male counterparts treatment towards her, which I can only imagine is something lots of female police officers and detectives do go through so it did feel authentic in that sense. This is a good book, and though it was long and a little tedious, I really appreciated the effort put into this plot line, and I’m curious enough to go back and start at the beginning of the series.
