Blunt Force is the 6th book in the Jane Tennison Crime thriller series by Lynda La Plante.

This installment opens with Jane being transferred to a sleepy little police station in London’s West End after being unceremoniously kicked off the elite Flying Squad. Her career is flatlining until a report of a barking dog leads to the most gruesome murder scene she’s ever seen.

I’ve been reading this book here and there over the last couple weeks and found it so intriguing. The author put a big emphasis on police procedures as the murder of Charles Foxley was solved and had the team going in multiple directions. I’ve always found detective work fascinating and this book did not disappoint.

Reading and seeing Jane Tennison grow throughout the book from questioning herself to becoming a strong confident detective was a bonus. I definitely need to go back and read the other books preceding this one.
