Suspenseful and exciting crime fiction from a master of the genre

I have enjoyed watching the Jane Tennison series on TV but have not had the chance to read the books. Lynda La Plante is renowned in the crime fiction genre. It sounds like Tennison will really have to prove herself in this story. It sounds suspenseful and exciting.
