I give this book 3.5 stars, because it was a quick, fun read. Everyone loves a good revenge tale! The plot started with “Mad Maude” murdering a man in the middle of a restaurant, & then the rest of the book revolved around her reasons. The characters weren’t very deeply drawn—they were more like caricatures that I didn’t really feel much about. None of them were especially like able: The “dumb bimbo”, the “society matron”, the sleazy financial advisor” etc. Much was made of the fact that Maude was a poker player, but just as kind of a plot device. It didn’t really ring true. It did have a satisfying ending with a kind of a sting so everyone got their comeuppance.
Overall, a light, fluffy read.
