Bluff is such a fun and hugely satisfying mystery! This novel is based on the story of Maud Warner, a mid-aged poker player, who is underestimated due to her age and her gender. She is so invisible that she is able to walk into a busy Manhattan restaurant and shoot the "Pope of Finance".

Bluff hooked me from the get-go. I started reading it and was several chapters in before I even left the library (where I was super lucky and found an Uncorrected Proof). If you love mystery, revenge, and poker, you will love this book. Jane Stanton Hitchcock's writing is hysterical. She includes quotes like "After what that bastard's done to me, he's lucky I don't have his body thrown into the wood chipper to the tune of an old kazoo!" If you can get your hands on a copy of this book, read it! You'll be happy you did.
