Jane Stanton Hitchcock wastes no time getting to the action of this intriguing tale of deadly revenge perpetrated by a clean-cut, seemingly well to do fifty something woman who brazenly shoots at the man she holds responsible for her family's undoing.

Hitting the wrong target, our largely coolly detached femme fatale opts to continue on with her plan.

While emotionally as icy as our lead, hopefully the author will find a way to bring us into the narrative without sacrificing the book's Noir atmosphere since as it is now, it's hard to be fully invested in her character's plight.
