I have been a long time fan of Susan's and what I love most about her writing is that her style is so evocative. This latest foray into the Witchlands is no exception. I love how this third book is focusing on Aeduan, and starting the book with an insight into his childhood helps to further ground a character that has been nebulous in the past. The plot of these first seven chapters moves at a brisk pace with different points of view being shown. The characters are all so interesting with their own baggage and their own desires and their own blockades holding them back. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the book to discover how all these threads (pun intended) fit together into the larger tapestry of the Witchlands series.
