This book (and this series) is an absolute gem. I was intrigued by the fact that Faecrate was doing a box for Bloodwitch so I read the first two books and then immediately pre-ordered the box.

This book is primarily about Aeduan (the titular Bloodwitch) who has been shrouded in secrecy for the previous two books. It showcases his interactions now as well as how his life used to be and it hit me in all the feels. All of the characters are so interesting and well developed and I *need* the next book to come out tomorrow.

One of the things that I really love about this series is that it is diverse. Even just in Bloodwitch we have prominent characters that are PoC, disabled, and LGBTQ+ which does not happen nearly enough as it should. Race relations and tensions between countries are illustrated beautifully but brutally-- the audience is well aware of how this is a mirror to the world around us.

Susan Dennard takes such care with her books: they are funny, thought-provoking and just so enjoyable. I've read over 150 books this year and this is one of my favourite finds.
