Immediately I was drawn in by the very first chapter, a dream of a chilldhood memory of this book's title character. A mysterious character throughout the previous two books, Aeduan's motives and thoughts have remained illusive yet this small tidbit provides an insight into what shaped him to who he is today. This is further expanded upon in the subsequent chapters.

His developing relationship with Iseult is another strong point, finally getting to see it from his perspective. I can't wait to see how it further progresses and see how Aeduan's deals with these life debts he owes Iseult.

The author continues to add to the epic world of the Witchlands through subtle reference and connections that for readers who enjoy investigating every word said to strip it back and find out what secrets there are, will be sure to love this wonderful new addition to the Witchlands series.

The cover really stands out. It follows the same pattern as the other two, but the model of Aeduan's stance and how it was captured truly draws in the eye. You can't help but wonder who it is and what his story is.
