haven't been able to read the first two books in this series, so I'm not really familiar with the characters and their history and how they're related to each other. However, despite me not having any background of the Witchlands universe, the first few chapters of this book managed to hook me and make me more interested in knowing more about Aeduan and the other characters.

Aeduan's powers intrigue me: how invincible can you be if your body heals itself automatically? And how powerful are your enemies if they can make weapons that stall your body's advanced healing properties and prevent your wounds from closing?

Safi has also caught my attention. Humans all have intuition, the gut feeling that tells us when other people are lying and when they're telling the truth. Safi, though, take that gut feeling into a whole other level and makes Truthwitch powers highly intriguing.

I'm still in the middle of reading another book (aren't we all?), but you can bet that the Witchlands series will be my next read.
