I haven't read the first books in the series, but now I REALLY need to

I haven't read the first book in this series, though they've been low grade background noise on my radar for a while now. After reading the first look for Bloodwitch, I definitely need to move this series to the top of my TBR. Despite not having background knowledge for the series and coming in at the beginning of book 3, this story sucked me right in and I was off and running, eager to keep reading and find out what would happen next. I'm kind of grateful the story cut off where it did, because now I can go back and pick up book 1 and start from the beginning as I'm meant to!
