Great Start For a Bloody Fantasy

I know this is the third book in a series, but it's start was enough to get me hooked and wanting to read the others. I liked Aeduan's self persecution, and how in this few pages you can tell he has grown along with his thoughts of him being a monster. It doesn't bother him as much as did when he was a child. It's made an impact on his life, but somewhat excepts it. The world is also very unique. I could from the few chapters and the ideas of the witches abilities that this is an unique fantasy world. It's not going to just be another reread of all the fantasy novels that have been coming out for the past few years. It's definitely something I want to read more of.
