This is a fast-paced story about a girl named Catrin. Whom I feel in love with from the on page 2. We learn very quickly that Catrin is a firecracker. Which is always a must for a book to lose yourself in. The world building is also incredible it sucked me from the get-go. We soon learn there was a devastating tragedy killing 14 men five years ago. Catrin job is to make sure it doesn't happen again. Soon we meet Perrete Charpentier, whom I honestly thought was going to be an enemy to lover romance. However, I was so wrong and I'm glad I was because the twist that has already happen with only reading 29 pages, I can't wait to read more. I was so disappointed to find I had reached the end of the first look.
While this is the first work I've read from Erin Beaty. It will not be the last. Her world building is incredible. Not only that she describes thing that make you really be able to picture it. It is a work of art. Ms. Erin Beaty has been added to my list of favorite authors. I can't wait to read what else she has written
