The first thing that drew me to the book was the beautiful cover. I have to say that the artist who created this absolutely knocked me dead with the imagery on the cover of this book.
I was blown away by this first look. It was amazing. The writing was lush and descriptive and I had the feeling I was watching a parkour video as Catrin climbed all around the scaffolding of the church that was being renovated. The murder was described in ample detail, but not so much as to be gross or off putting. I felt that the first 3 chapters really set up the story for an interesting beginning. I was pleasantly surprised by this first look. I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan and when I got the email for this book saying that that raffle was closing tonight/tomorrow I knew I had to take a look. The fantasy elements and the mystery were blended seamlessly.
