The writing style is nice, although occasionally a little over-wrought. It seems a little contrived thus far - the protagonist seemed to invent an excuse to go out, but then actually did the thing she said she was going out for and not whatever mysterious reason she had for wanting to leave in the first place. It's okay, but not enough for me to keep reading.
