This novel seemed interesting and intriguing from the very first couple of pages I read. I like that this book is pitched as a medieval YA fantasy with a murder mystery element, as this is definitely a subject that I do not read about often enough. The setting of the story was written in great detail and it was easy for me to follow along with the story, as well as all of the events that happen to the characters of the book. The main character, Catrin, is probably my favorite character in the book, and the murder at the center of the novel's plot definitely kept me interested and wanting to read more. The cover is also beautiful in a haunting way!
