Gorgeous cover, typical YA fantasy interior

Well, the cover is freaking stunning. So it certainly has that going for it. As for the writing itself...eh. It's fine, but between the lukewarm premise and the lukewarm character building so far, it doesn't seem like the type of thing I would enjoy.
