I love Tricia Levenseller’s style, is always magical and fun Blade of Secrets has some of my favorites tropes:

Adventure
Sisterly Love
Romance
Magic
But the main reason I wanted to read it’s because of the main character; Ziva is a talented blacksmith, she forges powerful weapons and endows them with magic, making them unique and even dangerous. But despite her talent, Ziva suffers from extreme social anxiety, she doesn’t feel comfortable with people, preferring to spend her days in her workshop and her sister dealing with clients.

One day they will have to flee, Ziva discovers that they want to take her prisoner.

Characters:

I liked the dynamic between the sisters, you can see the love between them and the support, they are a bit like yin and yang, while Ziva is not comfortable surrounded by people, Temra, on the contrary, loves to be the center of attention.

They both have their strengths and insecurities, Ziva would like to be as brave as Temra, while Temra would like her sister’s talent.

Petrik and Kellyn are the two traveling companions and love interest

Petrik is a bookworm and a cinnamon roll; he is studying magic and wants to know more about Ziva’s power.

Kellyn is a mercenary, tough on the outside, soft on the inside, he was hired to protect them and guide them to their new home

I love that no one puts pressure on Ziva and her anxiety; on the contrary, they understand and support her.

Romance:

It was witty, so sweet, and slow burn, both relations were cute.

Magic:

The magic system was not as developed as I would have liked, I enjoy the mythology between the Goddess sisters and the creation.

Summary:

It’s a short novel, fast-paced, witty, and fun, with likable characters, and cool battles that will leave you wanting the sequel.
