I adore the cover and the premise, plus the book comes with a map! Unfortunately the plot seems to have been more "awkward flirting" and less "epic quest."

Ziva has anxiety, and I thought the author did an absolutely wonderful job showing that off. It's not just something that's mentioned, it's shown in every interaction the character has with others. I also enjoyed the magic; even though there isn't much of it in the world, it comes up enough that the world feels truly magical.

There are a few small things I didn't love (some of the writing was a little funky to me, and the amount of time that takes place seems like a few days but was apparently over a month) but my biggest gripe is the romance. I'm personally sick of female main characters that state they aren't interested in romance then some hot stranger comes along and they lose their mind over them. The romance completely took over (and ruined) the plot.
