I am a firm believer in the saying, “You cannot go wrong with a Tricia Levenseller book.”
I had pretty low expectations for this book because it was a less-popular TL book. I was pleasantly surprised.
It’s a fast, light fantasy, and really easy to get into. Fast-paced. Slow-burn romance. And Trica weaves all this together in such an engaging and fascinating way.
As a person who suffers from social anxiety, this was really accurate. Sudden exhaustion, doubting yourself, taking the blame, feeling really awkward during intimate moments, etc. Ziva is such a well-written portrayal of this anxiety, which also proves that Trica can write great female protagonists.
The banter in this book was really enjoyable as well! In the little traveling group of four, everyone has their own relationships, and it was exciting to watch those develop. This small clan lives in my heart.
I loved watching these characters grow. The sisterly love was probably the best part of this book. Ziva and Temra are so well-fit for each other, caring and apologizing, doing nearly anything for each other. Love them so much!
