Tricia Levenseller has been an auto-buy author for me since reading Warrior of the Wild back at its release. I love her creativity for plots, environments, and of course, her characters. Blade of Secrets had a decent plot and characters. Some of which I enjoyed more than others. I truly enjoyed the creativity behind the “gift” our main character had. I was pulled in quickly so what creation the blade smith would make. Having a character that struggles with anxiety was a great representation for many young readers who can relate. Or for those who may not fully understand what they are feeling. As an adult reader, I did find the characters anxiety added a bit to my own, which took away from rating this a 4 or. 5 star for me perSonally. However, I did enjoy the book. I did not enjoy this read as much as Tricia Levenseller’s earlier books, but overall it was a good read.
