I had been meaning to read this book since the first time I saw it pop up on my Goodreads homepage. The cover is so cool looking that it is hard not to completely become obsessed with it. The book itself was not exactly my favorite, but I still had a blast reading it. Ziva is kind of an icon and I really loved her as our protagonist. The characters were really what made this story. It felt authentic and sometimes frustrating but in the very best of ways. Ziva and Temra's sisterly relationship was very real and very compelling and was honestly one of my favorite parts of the whole story. Also forging is totally cool so that was a plus easily. The story itself veered a bit into stereotypical YA fantasy a few times, but I honestly do not think that is necessarily a bad thing. Tropes exist for a reason and it made for a fun and exciting story. Now I have to anxiously await the sequel being released.
