YA female-led fantasy
Levenseller has set up an interesting concept here—an introverted female blacksmith who weaves magic into her creations, resulting in highly-coveted weapons that behave in a way an opponent will not expect. There is a sibling relationship, the beginnings of a romantic interest, and references to mental health struggles.
I like that this will clearly be a story with a strong female lead, and also that the author sheds light on the experiences of those struggling with social anxiety. However, I think the writing is a little lacking, and can already tell that the mental health angle is going to be way overdone.
Overall, I don’t see myself going out of my way to purchase this book once it is published, but do see myself reading it for reviewing purposes.
Also, gorgeous cover!
