Admittedly I’m already a huge fan of Levenseller and have been slowly making my way through her books. I started with The Shadows Between Us, and am now on her Pirate King duology. Her writing is fantastic — precise, no-nonsense, the kind of prose where every word has a purpose and nothing is wasted. Her characters and their associated banter is second-to-none, and I can already tell from this snippet that this book will also bear the qualities I adore about her books.
