When I first started reading this excerpt, I was hopeful that it would be an interesting and readable fantasy. Both Ziva and Temra seem to be strong female characters but I needed more background information on Ziva’s magic - I don’t understand it. The writing style was choppy and transitions were rough. Towards the end of the excerpt, Ziva mentions moving with no explanation and as the reader, I was lost.
