Although the cover didn't excite me, the synopsis did, so I read the first look not sure if I would enjoy it. I've always enjoyed blacksmiths portrayed in movies and tv shows, but writing needs to go more in depth to paint a bigger picture. I thought I might get lost in the description. Fortunately, the author weaves the technical description into the story and main character's thoughts so it isn't tedious or overbearing. I particularly like the portrayal of social anxiety in the main character and think the rest of the story will be quite interesting.
