Blade of Secrets is a modern fantasy adventure-romance, with references to mental health issues, LGBT couples, and feminist overtones. Ziva is an ironsmith with extreme social anxiety mitigated only by her sister Temra. When she accidentally forges a magic sword with potentially dangerous capabilities, we're sure the story will get interesting...particularly when a handsome stranger comes to town.
The jacket cover makes this seem like a typical fantasy novel, which it definitely isn't. The characters are engaging and much more nuanced than the typical characters we normally see in fantasies. Overall this is a dynamic start to the duology!
