I enjoyed this First Look. Although it was somewhat abrupt, the first two chapters introduce Ziva, a shy, anxious blacksmith (who makes magic weapons!) and her sister Terma, a flirt who is much the opposite of Ziva in terms of personality and interests. Finally, we meet Petrik, a scholar who is researching magic and wants to interview Ziva for a book he is writing.
While the writing is a bit too rapid, it's not by any means hard to read. I'm interested to see how the story progreses: will Ziva learn to manage her anxiety? Will Petrik get the interview he wants? How will their relationships progress? Looking forward to reading more.
