Solid Read
Overall, I thought this was a solid read.
My favorite thing about this novel was the setting/atmosphere. I thought that the author really delivered on the small towns spooky forest vibes.
I also really liked the generational magic aspect that was present in this book. The magic was interesting to read about, and I liked how each member of Linden's family had a different magical ability. I just wished it was featured more in the plot. Going along with that, I had a hard time distinguishing between Linden's family members for most of the book, so I wish they had been more distinct.
I thought the pacing overall was pretty slow, until the last quarter of the book. Once I got to the end, I thought the ending was a bit rushed. So I wished that the pacing was more balanced out.
Going off that, I was never really enticed to pick this book back up, so it took me longer to finish reading than I would've liked.
