The first thing that got my attention was James' family book entry. I love it when the book builds the character's background through journal entries. The book made me feel hungry from page 1, writing is very descriptive and makes it easy for the reader to imagine what is happening and picture everything. While we get a lot of descriptions, the story is constantly moving so it doesn't feel dense.
Chapters do not end on a cliffhanger, but the endings make me curious to pick it up and keep reading.
