Now that I've read "Demon Copperhead"...

I'm eager to read more about Appalachian life. Superstitions and secrets run deep in those mountains...and they will run deep in this novel. Also, given it's the 21st century, I want to know if the poverty in that part of the country also still runs deep, as deep as the aforementioned superstitions and secrets. I do hope that the story is not as bleak as "Demon Copperhead."
