Not My Thing - ya horror/fantasy magical family & forest

I like the premise but was not connecting to the story. It seems I am not into the family of magic users who have issues between each other. It makes me think of a few ya horror/fantasy/mystery that came out in last few years Rot) that did not catch my interest.
