How did I forget about Mothman?

I read about 10 pages in enjoying the characters and the writing style and all the little witchy and southern nods when a newly introduced character reminded me I still hadn't gotten to what I assume will be the best part: Mothman! I would have continued reading regardless, but the promise of a cryptid character means I won't be able to not read this book.

The writing is flowery and descriptive without bogging down the story. The characters feel comfortably familiar from the start. And the Appalachian setting provides its own magic. I think my only critic so far would be that the grey background on the cover seems a little dull (though I love all the other elements of the cover).
