I enjoyed this first impression a lot. I've never read anything by this author before. The writing style was engaging and the storyline interesting. I thought the James Family Book of Mountain Wisdoms was a creative way to begin the book and I got a giggle out of the final entry regarding the slug. I liked getting to know the characters and the uniqueness of Linden.
