I liked the cover enough to be curious about the content. However, after reading the excerpt, I realized that this novel would not be in my wheelhouse. I've read and enjoyed a number of fantasy novels, but this one just didn't hit all the right notes of being anything remotely intriguing. Perhaps it's because I couldn't engage with Linden and Rowan. However, I did find Hadrian to be a curiosity and I wonder what role he will have in the disappearance of Dahlia.
