I am not going to lie. Within the first few chapters of this book, I was not optimistic. I originally did not love that the chapters were written as they were. It came accross originally as disconnected and confusing. However, once you get further into this book the way that the chapters are written is very similar to how life is and that is essentially the message of this book. You do not get to see every single detail or hear every conversation.
It genuinely made me think about life and death in a differant way than I had before. Not only was it a masterfully written but it also revolves around a period of history that was filled with powerful emotions for the people who were living it.
This story was beutifully written in the sense that it continually adapted and grew. Just when you thought the story was over it continues in a way that you never thought it would. I cannot recommmend this story more. It is a must read.
