I truly enjoyed reading beyond that, the sea. I love the short chapters which to me makes it a quick read. I liked how you got to know each character. Bea was sent to live in America by her parents to be safe from the war at a young age. Her character was amazing to come to America alone as she did. You get to see how they characters grow emotionally. Bea found a new family in America and when she had to return to London it was conflicting for her. She was away for five years and now her father was gone and she didn’t really know her mother and resent her mother somewhat because she thought she was the one that sent her away. Her mother didn’t want her to go but in the end realized it was the right thing. This book shows that Bea had the love of two families. And her relationship with William and Gerald evolved into something I was not expecting at first and wondering how it would have played out if things would have been different I definitely recommend this book.
